My Ultimate Disneyland Dining List, Must-Have Reservations

Planning a visit to the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California? Make sure you come hungry—because Disneyland isn’t just about the rides and magic, it’s also home to some truly unforgettable dining experiences. Whether it’s the character-filled breakfasts, nostalgic vibes, or California-inspired cuisine, the restaurants listed below are my go-to favorites. Some are all about the food, others about the atmosphere, and a few just take me back to the joy of being in the parks as a kid.
These spots require reservations, and trust me—you’ll want to book them as soon as possible via the Disneyland app. Here’s my curated list of must-visits, plus a few honorable mentions if you're looking to mix it up.
My Absolute Musts! Get on your Disney app and book these now, they book up quick.
- Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. This place is a staple for me every visit. The buffet breakfast features beloved Disney characters, making it a hit for kids and adults alike. The food is great, the atmosphere cozy, and there’s no better way to kick off a Disney day. Please note that breakfast has characters roaming the restaurant, however, dinner is without characters.
- Carthay Circle Restaurant at California Adventure Park. This upscale table service restaurant serves California cuisine, set inside a replica of the iconic Carthay Circle Theatre (where Snow White premiered), this restaurant oozes old-Hollywood charm. Can’t get a reservation? Try the Carthay Circle Lounge downstairs—same great vibe, with craft cocktails and small plates.
- Blue Bayou Restaurant at Disneyland Park, inside Pirates of the Caribbean. Dining at the Blue Bayou is like stepping into a dream with dimly lit lanterns, crickets chirping, and boats drifting by on the Pirates ride. The ambiance is unbeatable. This one’s a childhood favorite that still feels magical every time.
- Naples Ristorante e Bar at Downtown Disney. If you’re craving carbs after a long park day, this is your place. The thin-crust pizza is always a win, and the outdoor patio is great for people-watching.
- Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel. A favorite for both kids and adults, Trader Sam’s is packed with surprises—from interactive effects to themed drinks and Polynesian-inspired snacks. It’s pure Disney whimsy with a tropical twist. Enjoy tropical drinks and bites in an immersive atmosphere
Additional restaurants I enjoy. If you’re looking to explore even more flavors, here are other spots I love to mix into my Disneyland dining routine.
- Ballast Point Brewing Company in Downtown Disney. Laid-back atmosphere, craft brews, and great burgers.
- Céntrico in Downtown Disney. Fresh, vibrant Mexican cuisine with a modern twist.
- Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill at the Disneyland Hotel. A tiki-themed escape with casual eats and a chill outdoor vibe.
- Broken Spell Lounge at the Disneyland Hotel. Elegant cocktails and small bites with enchanting Sleeping Beauty-inspired decor.
- Napa Rose at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. A splurge-worthy, fine dining experience perfect for a special occasion.
- Oga’s Cantina at the Disneyland Park, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Step into another galaxy with themed drinks and immersive Star Wars atmosphere.
- Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace at the Disneyland Park. Unique dining with panoramic views, ideal for fireworks nights.
Some final thoughts, Reserve early: Use the Disneyland app and grab your dining reservations as soon as your dates open up. Be flexible: If your top picks are full, keep checking! Spots open up often closer to the date. Mix it up: Combine iconic park dining (like Blue Bayou) with hotel or Downtown Disney meals for variety.
Whether you’re eating with toddlers, teens, or adults, there’s something magical—and delicious—for everyone on this list. Happy eating and enjoy the magic!
Happy trails and thank you. Selby
